Message received: Text on pages 1, 22 is outside the safety margin and may be cut off. (The details change to match your file.)
Alert level: Warning. You can acknowledge this warning in the proof window and continue.
Applies to: Interior and cover files.
Meaning
Some text is closer to the page edge than the safety margin. Cutting can shift slightly, so text near the edge can be cut off or look crowded. The safety margin depends on your binding. [Insert margin sizes per binding. Confirm with Prepress.] Backgrounds and images can still run to the edge.
Necessary actions
- Note the pages listed in the message.
- Move text, page numbers, and logos inside the safety margin. In InDesign, set margins in Layout → Margins and Columns.
- Re-export and upload the new file. Preflight will check it again automatically.
Can I proceed without fixing it?
Yes. Acknowledge the warning in the proof window to continue. Text outside the margin may be cut off.
