Producing a hardbound sample is a labor-intensive process, so rather than printing and binding the entire book, we digitally print just the first 16 pages calibrated as closely as possible to match your final product and leave the remaining text pages blank. This gives you an accurate look at text placement, paper stock, and overall feel without the time and cost of proofing a full run.
The book is then hand-bound and finished just like the final product, so you get a true sense of the trim size, cover, and binding quality even though only the opening pages carry printed content. Your actual production run will go through automated binding, resulting in a more consistent, faster, and refined result at scale.
