PDF files are final output formats designed primarily for viewing and printing rather than active design work. During the export process from design programs such as Adobe InDesign or Photoshop, elements like layers, text formatting, fonts, and effects are often flattened or converted. Because of this, editing a PDF directly can cause significant layout and formatting problems and may compromise the integrity of the file and overall image quality.
Can Acutrack team make corrections?
In some cases, yes. If the structure of the PDF allows for safe editing, the prepress team may be able to assist with minor corrections or cover adjustments for a graphic service fee of $100
However, if the PDF cannot be safely edited, the client will need to update the original design file and provide a newly exported PDF.
What should you do if changes are required?
If updates are needed, please follow these steps:
Apply the corrections in your original design file (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Export a new PDF from the updated file.
Submit the revised PDF for production to filesupport@acutrack.com
Providing an updated file ensures the document prints exactly as intended, avoids introducing errors, and ensures compliance with our Book Print File Submission guidelines.
