How do USPS Priority Mail rates work?
Rates are based on:
Package weight (“Weight Not Over” in pounds), and
USPS Zone (Zone 1 is closest; Zone 9 is farthest)

For packages up to 1 lb, the chart shows:
Zone 1: $9.37
Zone 8: $15.09
Zone 9: $31.07
Why does Zone 9 cost so much more?
Zone 9 represents the farthest delivery range (often non-contiguous or special service areas depending on your zone mapping). Because it’s the greatest distance, it typically has the highest cost.
Are there extra fees for large packages?
Yes. Additional fees apply based on size:
Nonstandard length (over 22" up to 30"): add $4.00
Nonstandard length (over 30"): add $15.00
Nonstandard volume (over 2 cubic feet): add $15.00
Dimension noncompliance fee: add $1.50 (applies when a package does not meet USPS dimension rules)
When does dimensional weight apply?
Dimensional weight may apply when a parcel exceeds one cubic foot. In that case, the shipment is billed using the greater of actual weight or dimensional weight.
What is the IMpb Noncompliant Fee / eVS Unmanifested Fee?
A $0.25 fee may apply if a package is missing required USPS compliance elements (e.g., IMpb) or is unmanifested under eVS.
Can my final charge be higher than the chart rate?
Yes. The chart rate covers the base postage by weight and zone. Your total may increase if any of the following apply:
Dimensional weight billing (over one cubic foot)
Nonstandard length/volume surcharges
