What does FedEx Ground cost?
See the attached FedEx price sheet:
- Sheet 1 — rates for small packages
- Sheet 2 — rates that apply once the combined weight of all boxes in a shipment is 200 lbs or more (see below)
How does FedEx estimate cost when shipping multiple boxes?
FedEx doesn't price each box on its own — it rates the entire shipment together, based on the combined weight of every box going to that destination, no matter how many boxes that is.
Once a shipment's total combined weight reaches 200 lbs or more, FedEx moves it out of standard small package pricing (Sheet 1) and into FedEx Ground Multiweight (MWT) pricing (Sheet 2) — a separate rate structure built for heavier shipments. MWT pricing is generally more economical per pound once a shipment crosses that 200 lb threshold.
What insurance coverage is included?
FedEx Ground shipments include up to $100 of insurance coverage.
What is dimensional weight?
FedEx uses dimensional weight pricing, which means shipping costs may be based on package size as well as actual weight. See the attached details on dimensional weight.
Can FedEx Ground deliver to PO Boxes?
No. FedEx Ground does not deliver to PO Boxes or U.S. territories.
If a PO Box or unsupported address is used, the shipment will be moved to a "Ship Error" status. Customers will then have the option to:
- Provide a valid physical address
- Switch the shipment to USPS First-Class delivery
