How are my books printed in color?
We print all color books using CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black). This is the industry-standard process for full-color printing.
Will the printed colors match what I see on my screen?
Not exactly. Colors displayed on a screen (RGB) often appear different when printed in CMYK. Additionally, printed color can vary depending on:
Paper type (coated vs. uncoated, brightness, texture)
Printing equipment
Ink absorption and finishing processes
Because of these factors, output from one printer may not match another.
Can I see a proof before full production?
Yes. Acutrack can provide a printed sample proof so you can review and approve the color output before proceeding with your full print run.
What if I’m not satisfied with the color results?
If adjustments are needed, you may need to experiment with different CMYK values to achieve your desired result. Since printed color can vary, some fine-tuning is often required.
We recommend creating a CMYK swatch test sheet that includes multiple variations of your target color. This allows you to compare printed results and select the combination that best meets your expectations.
Can Acutrack print a custom color swatch sheet for me?
Absolutely. We are happy to print a swatch test sheet on your specified paper stock so you can see exactly how particular CMYK values will print on our equipment. Once you determine the preferred combination, you can incorporate those values into your final design with confidence. You can provide the swatch sheet that you want us to print for your testing
