Book print has minor fluctuations in the final number of units produced against the quantity that was ordered.
In certain circumstances, you may receive a small additional quantity on your order, otherwise known as an overrun. Conversely, if you receive less than you ordered, this is known as an under-run. The fact is, over-runs and under-runs are a normal occurrence in the printing industry. Acutrack has a policy of + or - 3% discrepancy of the quantity ordered for perfect bind books. 10% + or - discrepancy of the quantity ordered for Case bind, Coil bind and Wire-o bind books. We invoice you as per the actual quantity produced.
We make our best effort to only produce the exact quantity you need.
When printing, items will inadvertently get damaged during the manufacturing process. This is referred to as spoilage. To make up for this we will print extra to try and offset this and bring the final count up to the quantity requested. This is one example of how you can get an overrun or underage.
