Can a sender prepay Customs duties & taxes when shipping international?

All items entering a foreign country are subject to customs inspection and assessment of duties, taxes, and fees in accordance with that country's national laws (this fee is also collected in the United States on inbound international items). Customs duties and taxes are assessed, generally, if the item sent is dutiable and if the value of the item is above the threshold set by the country's laws.

DHL global or USPS International Postal service:
You can NOT prepay Customs duties & taxes when an item is mailed via DHL Global mail service or when shipped via USPS.  The recipient of the mailpiece is the only one who can pay the customs fees.

FedEx International Economy or Priority service:
You have the option to ship a package via FedEx International Economy or Priority service using DDP terms. 

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) means that the seller/shipper is under the obligation to deliver the goods to the destination cleared for importation and thus bears all risks and costs, including duties and taxes to comply with that obligation. The rule for DDP is that the customs clearance must be done on the account of the seller/shipper. 

With the DDP option, the destination country will collect the duties and taxes from FedEx and FedEx will send an invoice to Acutrack to pay. Since there is a manual process, Acutrack doesn’t support this option for regular fulfillment orders. You may check with Acutrack’s Account manager if this is a special case with large shipments.
