Printing a large print run on an offset press requires a significant amount of “make ready” time to prepare the press before printing actually begins. It is not economical or practical to use offset press for just one printed proof.
Typically, we send you an online proof (soft copy) for your approval prior to printing. If you need an additional hard copy proof, we supply Digital Dylux and/or EPSON for your approval.
Digital Dylux proof
Digital Dylux proof is made from your files exactly the same way as we send the files to our printing press. The goal of this proof is to confirm the accuracy of all elements, positions, and pagination. The quality of this proof is not for print quality or color accurate. Dylux proof is a set of loose sheets for all text pages inside the book. We charge you $35 to output this proof.
EPSON proof
EPSON proof is used to judge the quality of the images and the accuracy of the color. This is typically used to output for "color printed" book cover. If your book has color printed text pages, It is recommended that we proof a few critical pages instead of the entire book. Once approved, we need this proof to be sent back to us so our press technician then can use the EPSON proof as a reference when printing a sheet. We charge you $25 per page for EPSON proof.
We need 2-3 days to output the proof. Please note that the book print production starts once we have approved proofs.
